At the state track meet, a second place and third place finish, and several advancing out of prelims to final events. First in the 1A Boys High Jump, Sigourney’s J.C. Abrahamson jumped 6’8 to finish second. The winning height was 6’9. In the Girls 1A 4×2, Highland’s team of Heather Cole, Cheyenne Flory, Allison Sojak, and Kayla Schneider finished third. Some of the other highlights:

Washington’s Jenna Krebs 5th in the Shot Put.

Washington boys’ 4×2 team finished 8th.

Mid-Prairie boys 4×2 finished 6th.

Columbus’ James Davisson finished 5th in the High Jump.

The following athletes qualified out of prelims and will run in today’s finals:

Mid-Prairie girls 4×1 with 3rd fastest time

Mid-Prairie boys 4×1 with 6th fastest time

Lone Tree girls 4×1 with the 4th fastest time

Columbus’ Heaven Chandler in the 100 Meter Hurdles with 8th fastest time

Keota’s Jenna Altenhofen in the 100 Meter Hurdles with 5th fastest time

Winfield-Mount Union’s Wes Atkinson in the 110 Meter Hurdles with 6th fastest time

Also the finals the 100 Meter Dash finals will be run today with three area girls running:

2A – Natalie Feigenspan (Mid-Prairie) and Heaven Chandler (Columbus)
1A – Madelyn Flemr (Lone Tree)
