The grandson of two area residents has completed another step on the way to becoming a professional in aerospace maintenance.  Air National Guard Airman 1st Class Ryan Swartzendruber has graduated from the Aerospace Maintenance Apprentice Course at Sheppard Air Force Base in Wichita Falls, Texas.  Swartzendruber learned C-130 aircraft maintenance fundamentals for repairing and servicing aircraft with turboprop engines.

His training also featured testing, inspecting, and repairing systems operational during flights.  Swartzendruber now heads to Little Rock Air Force Base in Arkansas, where he’ll continue his education in aerospace maintenance and maintenance management.  He is the grandson of Dean and Lois Swartzendruber of Kalona.
