The Washington Demon boys use big shots to capture conference crown. The boys and girls teams played in the Southeast Conference Tournament in Fort Madison yesterday. On the boys side, the Demons were neck and neck with Fairfield and the two teams ended up tied with a score of 313. Demon Head Coach Mark Berhow says for the tie breaker they look at the score of each teams fifth golfer and Washington’s Michael Hall and Dylan DePerrot both shot 85’s while Fairfield’s fifth golfer shot 87, so the Demons were crowned conference champions. Berhow says they got some big shots from every golfer at some point in the round, one of the biggest was Alex Thode sinking a 30 foot put on the 18th hole to birdie. Fairfield had the medalist with Davis Loenberg shooting a 70. On the day for the Demons:
*Jake Redlinger 77 (runner up medalist)
*Joseph Harris 78
*Alex Thode 79
*Brock Kimball 79
Michael Hall 85
Dylan DePerrot 85

*= all conference golfer

Next the boys head to Oskaloosa to begin the postseason at their sectional tournament.
