The state track meet finished up in Des Moines on Saturday. On the final day several area athletes were running in final events. Some of the highlights:

2A 110 Meter Hurdles – Wes Atkinson, Winfield-Mount Union 2nd
2A Girls 4×1 – Mid-Prairie 2nd Natalie Feigenspan, Courtney Shalla, Meghan Redlinger, Katie Redlinger
2A Boys 4×1 – Mid-Prairie 3rd Jaemin Powell, Canaan Powell, Steven Jones, Ryan Hoffman
1A Girls 4×1 – Lone Tree 4th Rachel Davidson, Dakota Lamonica, Madelyn Flemr, Angela Weymeyer
2A Girls 100 Meter Dash – Heaven Chandler, Columbus 3rd; Natalie Feigenspan, Mid-Prairie 5th
1A Girls 100 Meter Dash – Madelyn Flemr, Lone Tree 8th
1A Girls 100 Meter Hurdles – Jenna Altenhofen, Keota 5th
2A Girls 100 Meter Hurdles – Heaven Chandler, Columbus 7th
2A Boys 800 Meter Run – Justin Hochstetler, Mid-Prairie 6th
2A Boys 1600 Meter Run – Peter Schwartz, Mid-Prairie 14th

As for the Demons, Boys Head Coach Steve Roth says some of the highlights for them were the 4×2 and 4×1 with the 4×2 team finishing eight and the 4×1 team ninth just missing the finals. Roth also praised Landon and Alex Coker in the long jump who both went just over 19’. Also Jake Redlinger’s 4th place finish in the high jump was big.
