Washington County 4-H is getting ready to host their 3rd Annual 5k run and one mile walk.  The event is open to all age groups, male and female, and all levels of fitness.  Kati Peiffer, a volunteer with this event says the money raised from this event is used for 4-H enrollment fees.  She says the state requires all 4-H participants to pay $30 toward their enrollment fee, but kids in Washington County only pay $10 and the rest of the fee comes from fund raisers.

The entry fee for the one mile is $10 and must be postmarked by today.  Race day registration costs $15.

The entry fee for the 5k is $15 postmarked by today or $20 for race day registration.  T-shirts are guaranteed for those that enter by today.  The course will be mainly flat, beginning and ending at the Washington County Fairgrounds.

The event is Friday, June 24th at 6pm with registration at 5:00.  For more information, call the Extension office at 319-653-4811 or follow the link here.
