The Mt. Pleasant Panthers used the perfect mix of strong hitting, starting pitching and capitalized on Mid-Prairie errors to beat the Golden Hawks 12-2 in five innings. In a game heard on KCII, Mid-Prairie fell behind 3-0 in the first, but countered with two tallies of their own. However, after pulling within one the Golden Hawks saw Mt. Pleasant score nine runs over the next three innings to finish the game early. Offensively the Golden Hawks were led by Ryan Shellady who cracked a two RBI triple, scoring Brandon Aggson and Jason Schrock. The Panthers’ Jacob Dilks recorded the win on the mound, Jason Schrock was saddled with the loss in his first start of the year. Mid-Prairie now stands at 0-5 on the season. They travel to face North Cedar in a conference doubleheader tonight.
