The Demon softball team was hosting Mount Pleasant in a make up of a doubleheader that was rained out earlier this season. In the first game, the Demons’ Maddie Bohr led off the bottom of the first with a triple and would later score to put the Demons up 1-0. Washington would trickle in five runs over the next few innings and then in the bottom of the sixth they scored five more to end the game early 10-0. Maddie Bohr pitched the entire game.

In the second, heard on KCII, the Demons had a bad start as the Panthers scored 4 runs. Demon Head Coach Angie Shrader said pitcher Ashley Rausch did her job in throwing pitches that allowed the Panthers to put the ball in play, they struggled fielding behind her a little. Washington committed two errors in the inning. The Panthers got another run in the third and the Demons were playing catch up the rest of the game. Washington pulled within three with it 5-2 but Mount Pleasant jumped back out to a 7-2 lead. The Demons scored another two runs in the fourth but were held scoreless the last three innings. The Panthers won 7-4 and got their first conference win of the season to improve to 1-7 the Demons with the split are now 10-6 overall and 7-3 in the conference. They host WACO, Sigourney, and Winfield-Mount Union for the Washington Invite today.
