The Washington Demon softball had a key conference doubleheader hosting first place and 3A 6th ranked Keokuk. In the first game, heard on KCII, it was a fast moving defensive game through four innings. The Chiefs used four hits in the top of the fifth to go up 4-0. But Washington responded in the bottom of the inning with Stephanie Fishback and Grace Redlinger getting back to back base hits and a Maddie Bohr double scored them. Washington would bring across two more to even the score. The Demons would score again in the bottom of the sixth as Mackenzie Adrian got on with a hit and scored. As Washington won 5-4. Maddie Bohr pitched the entire game and got the win.

In the second game, Washington struck first with a Maddie Bohr double, Sammy Ellingson sacraficed her over to third and Jonie Irwin hit her in for a 1-0 lead. The Chiefs answered with a solo home run from Regan Zeterlund to even the score at 1-1. But the Demons would get one of their own as Grace Redlinger hit a shot to left for the first varsity home run for a Demon on their new softball field. The Demons were up 2-1 and would get it to 4-1, but a couple of disastrous innings came in the fifth and sixth as Keokuk scored six unearned runs and would win 7-4. The split puts the Demons at 10-4 while Keokuk is now 9-2. Demon Head Coach Angie Shrader says those two error riddled innings were a killer.
