The Demon softball team was hosting Highland last night. In a game heard on KCII, the Huskies struck first in the top of the third with Kayla Schnider and Mariah Freel each getting hits that brought up Taylor Vonnahme and she singled to score two runs. Highland would add five more runs on three hits in the top of the fourth to put them up 7-0. The Demons did fight back with three runs in the fifth and rallied across two in the seventh but Highland got the win 8-5. Highland Pitcher Mariah Freel made her first start since being out with tendinitis in her arm. She pitched three innings and Katie Springer came on for the rest of the game. With a key conference doubleheader tonight the Demons also used two pitchers Maddie Bohr threw three and two thirds and Ashley Rausch came on for the rest. The Demons fall 17-12 while Highland improves to 20-12.

Now the Demons go to Mount Pleasant tonight, a team they split with in their first meeting.
