A high-ranking state official is touring Louisa County this week to tour local businesses. Debi Durham, director of the Iowa Department of Economic Development will be visiting several businesses in Wapello and Columbus Junction tomorrow. She is scheduled to tour a rifle manufacturer, a Hispanic owned food company, a pork production facility, and a producer of a natural bug repellant.
Dennis Fraise, of the Louisa Development Group, says the director, meeting face to face with small and large company owners and officials, will allow for a better dialogue between rural business owners and state economic development officials. Durham will arrive in Wapello around 9 tomorrow morning, and is expected to spend most of the day around the county.
