The first June meeting of the Kalona City Council takes place Monday evening.  The council will be looking for bids on the city’s proposed Asphalt Paving Street Project. They will also discuss monetary increases for projects that are part of the Downtown Revitalization Project. An increase of nearly $5,500 is expected for electrical changes by Kober Electric, and $10,500 of extra work is needed by Maxwell Construction. The council will then approve funds awarded to the city of Kalona by the Washington County Riverboat Foundation, which include renovations to the city’s ball fields.

The meeting takes place at 7:30 Monday in the Kalona Community Center.
