The city of Kalona will have their chance to celebrate their history and community this weekend. Kalona Days will begin tomorrow night at 6:00 p.m. Kalona Days organizer Bobbie Peiffer says there will also be a variety of food and drinks available from vendors throughout the weekend. The Kalona City Pool will have a free open swim for members from 5:00 until close, or it’ll be $1.00 for non-members.
Peiffer says Saturday is the more active day of the two, featuring the parade down B Avenue at 10:00 a.m., a hot dog eating contest at 1:00, and a pedal and garden tractor pull at the Kalona Sales Barn, among many other activities. Kalona Days kicks off with live music at 6:00 tomorrow night.
