The flooding along the Missouri River in western Iowa has prompted members of a Washington County group to pass along reminders of keeping track of important documents.  Tim Coffey, Vice-Chair of Washington County’s COAD says there are numerous items you should take with you when faced with an emergency.  COAD recommends taking all photo IDs, marriage and military papers, school transcripts, insurance cards and retirement information.

He says these papers should be kept in a fire-safe box and ready to take with you.  Coffey adds you should also have emergency contacts with you in case of an emergency.

To find out more information about keeping crucial documents safe during a disaster, contact Washington County COAD.
