The Washington Demon varsity softball team hopes to finally get to host their home opener Tuesday. The team will be playing on a new softball field because the new high school is being built where the old field was. Construction started on the new field after last season ended. Head Coach Angie Shrader says it’s good to go, now it’s been just a question of weather. The Demons were supposed to host Mount Pleasant on Thursday but rain moved that to this coming Friday. The Demons hope to host Fairfield Tuesday, weather permitting.
