New technology is coming to the Washington School District next year and beyond.  Jeff Brock who is the Technology Director at the Washington Community School District says the funds for this new technology came from the latest grants awarded by the Washington County Riverboat Foundation.  He says the biggest grant will be used for classroom technology that will be used in the new high school opening in the fall of 2012.

Brock says the new high school will have projectors, sound systems and interactive systems plus other technology needed by the teachers in the classroom.  He adds another grant was received to add a ceiling mounted projector, audio system and document camera to two classrooms at Stewart Elementary.  These two grants totaled $110,000.
