The Mid-Prairie School District’s central office has been located in the same building since 1986, but it has never been renovated in nearly 50 years.  The current office is inside a building which housed a chiropractic office.

But District Superintendent Mark Schneider says that’s all about to change.  He says the office is in desperate need of renovation, and after discussion with an architect, plans are in place for that to happen.  The Washington County Riverboat Foundation awarded the district a $100,000 for the renovations last month, but Schneider says that won’t cover all the costs. He says the total cost of the project will be about $250,000.

He says the project could begin as soon as late summer.
