The city of Kalona will get some assistance after members of the Washington County Riverboat Foundation announced the recipients of this quarter’s funds.  The group will give just over $39,000 to the city of Kalona.  City Clerk Karen Christner says part of that total will be used for bonding for the Downtown Revitalization Project.  She says the leftover funds won’t be utilized just yet.  The Washington County Riverboat Foundation awards quarterly grants, as well as mini-grants throughout the year to the nine cities of Washington County.
