[simage=2144,400,y,center]Living in poverty can be difficult to grasp, but a group of Washington County residents got a glimpse of life on low income at a simulation in Brighton.  The Washington County Extension and Brighton Horizons sponsored Tuesday’s simulation, which was held in the old Brighton school gymnasium.  Nancy Adrian with the Extension says 43 people participated in situations low-income families face, such as having to get food from a food pantry or getting through unemployment.  She says when put in these situations, many participants ended the evening with no money or food, evicted, or with children in foster care.

One Brighton resident says she thought the simulation was good, but left her emotional, and that the night reminded her to not take what she has for granted.
