Amtrak has announced it will restore its train service through Iowa this week.  Flooding on the Missouri River near Omaha forced the company to shut down the California Zephyr line running from Chicago to Denver.  That line has stops in Mt. Pleasant and Ottumwa.  Amtrak will set up a detour to avoid flooded areas along the river, allowing travel through southern Iowa to resume.  The Mt. Pleasant station is the second busiest Amtrak stop in the state of Iowa.
