The Alliant Energy Foundation has contributed over two thousand dollars to four different area agencies.  Scott Reigstad spokesman for Alliant Energy says these grants are awarded to support specific programs that address community needs and benefit a large number of people.  He adds the program emphasizes five primary areas of giving:  human needs, education, culture and art, civic and the environment.

A total of twenty-three hundred dollars were awarded to Hamakua Place, the ISU Extension, Washington High School PTO and St. James Catholic School.  Since the Foundation was first formed in 1998, over 34 million dollars has been contributed.

Hamakua Place awarded $500, ISU Extension awarded $1000, St. James awarded $300, High School PTO awarded $500.
