The Washington School Board heard an update on the construction of the high school as part of their meeting this week.  Superintendent Dr. Mike Jorgensen says the Board was given a walkthrough of the new high school from Dan Culp, the project coordinator as well.  He says the progress of the construction has been slowed down by the rain, but everything is still on time and on budget.

They also discussed participation in the Iowa Association for Educational Purchasing Program which is a cooperative sponsored by the state Area Education Associations that will be used for their food service program.  Involvement in the Iowa High School Athletic Association Catastrophic Insurance Program was talked about as well.

Dr. Jorgensen says this is a program available to protect student athletes and their parents in case of a catastrophic event.  The Washington School Board meetings are held the second Wednesday of each moth.
