The Washington County Board of Supervisors have renewed a contract between the County and Hillcrest Family services.  Bobbi Wulf, Mental Health/Mental Retardation Division Director says as part of the contract will now include a Crisis Stabilization Services section.  She says this is a pilot project funded through grants.

The purpose of this new service is to help prevent hospitalizations for individuals and to give treatment prior to needing that level of care.  The new rates for the contract will take effect the first of August.

The Supervisors also approved the referendum for a Local Option Sales and Services Tax to be part of the November 8th ballot.  This referendum will only be in locations in the county where the current tax expires the end of June next year.

The locations which will not have the referendum on the ballot will be the city of Washington, Kalona, Coppock and unincorporated Washington County.
