The Washington County Riverboat Foundation (WCRF) has awarded funds to area organizations.  The Kalona Historical Village received $2,000 for new tables and chairs, the Kalona Rotary Club was awarded $2,000 for its downtown flag project for the community center, the city of Kalona will use its $2,000 grant to help cover the costs of an open air cinema, and the Keota Volunteer Fire Department received $2,000 to purchase a new portable water pump.

The Washington County Riverboat Foundation announced 37 different grants totaling just over $70,000 at its presentation this week.  The Mini Grant program is designed to reach applicants who have a small project they would like to complete in their communities.
