The warmer temperatures are causing more than just thermometers to rise.  The heat is also causing problems with pavement blowups.

David Patterson, Washington County Engineer says buckling pavement happens when sub-surface moisture gets under the pavement which moves around during the winter months and the pavement expands on hot days.

He says if you should notice any buckled pavement to notify the Washington County Sheriff’s Office.
