IMS Downs Lone Tree to Advance in Softball Playoffs

The IMS softball team was hosting Lone Tree in postseason action. The Lone Tree Lions won the toss to be the home team. In a game heard on KCII, Lone Tree struck first in the bottom of the third to go up 1-0. IMS would get on the board in the top of the fifth, Jacayla Litwiller got on with a walk and would later score from third on an infield hit by Keilah Brokaw. Brokaw would also score in the inning from third on a Naomi Miller sacrafice to put IMS up 2-1. IMS would add another run and work out of a few late jams to win 3-1. Mo Brenneman, Megan Haifley, each had hits, Laura Hochstetler had a double and Keilah Brokaw scored two runs and had an rbi. Hochstetler pitching gave up seven hits and struck out four only allowing one run. With the IMS win they advance to face Highland tonight. Highland beat HLV on Wednesday 16-2. You can hear tonight’s game on KCII. The winner will play the winner of #7 Don Bosco and Belle Plaine in Belle Plaine.
