A Kalona medical company is supplying equipment to one of Florida’s top cancer centers.  Kalona-based Civco supplies the Lynn Cancer Center in Boca Raton, Florida with innovative technology that helps doctors paint a clearer picture of anatomy.

Director of Business Development for Civco’s Protura system Eric Knipfer says cancer centers are seeking to adopt more advanced imaging equipment that allows them to visualize the inside of the human body within millimeters, which allows doctors to pinpoint where and how cancer is affecting patients.

He says the Protura system has allowed doctors at Lynn Cancer Center to better treat over 100 patients so far this year. Knipfer says Civco is currently in discussions with companies in four other countries to get them set up with the Protura system.
