Authorities have arrested a Kalona man on charges of possession of methamphetamines. Johnson County Sheriff’s deputies say they searched the home 45 year-old Roger Allen Schropp after a complaint about his possible use of methamphetamine at his home. Officials say deputies used a state of Iowa Narcotics search warrant at Schropp’s home at 1431 Angle Road SW near Kalona around 10:00 Thursday morning.
Sergeant Virginia Watts says during the search, deputies discovered evidence of methamphetamine manufacturing, including starter fluid cans, Coleman cans, sludge containing lithium strips, and empty pseudo-ephedrine boxes. She says Schropp was charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance precursor, both of which are Class D felonies.
A preliminary hearing is set for July 11th.
