The National Merit Scholarship Corporation has announced a Kalona student will be rewarded for excellent grades and test scores.  Dylan Hochstetler, a student at Mid-Prairie High School, will receive the National Merit University of Iowa scholarship toward his education.  Officials from each sponsor college select their winners from among finalists in the merit scholarship program who will attend their school.

Hochstetler says he plans to pursue a degree in business at the University of Iowa, where he’ll begin this fall.  He’s one of 1,700 Iowa students to receive the honor.
