Coordinators of the Kalona Public Library Summer Reading Program say they are very pleased with the success of this year’s events.  Library Director Anne Skaden says this year’s events and activities have been very well attended, and the 2011 program registered the most students ever.  She says over 200 students signed up for the program, and this year’s African theme has been very popular.

The program continues into July, however, with more events planned for teens.  She says summer heat has boosted attendance as well, as most of the library’s activities are held inside.  More events are planned in the next few weeks, such as movie nights and other group activities.
