Legislators in Des Moines are considering the possibility of holding a special session to discuss keeping the state’s Workforce Development field offices open.  Under plans described in the spring, the state’s 55 field offices would be closed and consolidated into 16 regional offices.

Representative Jarad Klein from Keota says he has heard rumors about what is occurring and has concern for the local office and making sure good customer service is being provided.

The services provided by the Iowa Workforce Development office would be available through the library or ISU Extension office if it closes.
