Washington County’s HACAP has been awarded funds from the Iowa Department of Economic Development.  Mitch Finn with HACAP says the money totaling over $468,000 will be used to renovate space at the Orchard Hill Complex for classroom use by the Head Start program.  He says the funds are coming from a Community Development Block Grant.

They are part of almost $3 million awarded across the state to other community facilities and were given based on the financial need and potential impact of the project, benefit to low- and moderate-income individuals, and commitment of local resources to moving the project forward.
