The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawks grabbed some late regular season momentum last night with a win on Senior Night in Kalona 6-4 over #7 Iowa City Regina. In a game heard on KCII, the Golden Hawk offense started out hot early, beginning play with three straight hits and scoring three times in the first. Mid-Prairie would add another tally in 3rd to take a commanding 4-0 lead over the Regals. In the circle Olivia Lugar held down the Regina offense by sitting down the first nine Regal batters of the game. Regina broke through in the 4th with their first base runner and then tied it with four runs of their own. The Golden Hawks would answer the bell, retaking the lead in the 5th with one run as Rachel Miller scored on an RBI basehit by Felcia Schulty and Mid-Prairie would put one more insurance tally on the board when Rachel Miller had a hit to score a runner from second.

Olivia Lugar slammed the door on Regina in the seventh for the Senior Night upset.
