The Washington Y in unveiling a new child care program this fall.  Shalon Hoyle, Childcare Director at the Y says the new program is expanding to include children in grades four through six.  Hoyle says children will be picked up at Lincoln Elementary and taken to the Y after school.

Children will be served a healthy snack, have help available with homework and have access to the game room, the gym and will be taken to any other programs they might be a part of at the Y.  The children will also be part of a mentoring program for the younger children by reading stories and playing games.

The Above and Beyond Program will start with this upcoming school year.  Hoyle says they are limiting the registration to 15 this year and will look into increasing the enrollment depending on the need and if the program goes well.
