The Washington Demons softball team’s season came to an end in Pella last night. Playing in the regional semifinal round, there were two big stats on the night. The first the Demons had Maddie Bohr lead off the top of the first with a double and after that all of the Demon lead off hitters for each inning were retired. The other stat was the opposite, everyone of Pella’s lead off hitters got on and all but one ended up scoring. The Little Dutch spread runs through the game in an 8-1 win. The Demons scored their run in the third with a Lauren Vittetoe sacrifice fly to center to score Sammy Ellingson from third. Washington also got a one out triple from Grace Redlinger. The Demons started Maddie Bohr in the circle who didn’t walk anyone struck out one and gave up six hits through three and a third. Ashley Rausch and Emily Vittetoe also pitched. Washington ends their season 20-17 while Pella improves to 20-7 and heads to Oxford to face the winner of Clear Creek Amana and Vinton-Shellsburg.
