Iowa is once again holding their sales tax holiday next month.  Clothing and footwear considered appropriate for everyday wear such as shirts, pants, hats, socks, shoes, sandals and underclothing items under $100 each are exempt from state and local option sales tax during this weekend.

Washington Economic Development Group Director Ed Raber says to the best of his knowledge, Iowa’s tax free weekend was the first of its kind in the country.  Now in its twelfth year, Iowa’s tax free weekend promises to be a big benefit to local businesses in southeast Iowa.

Iowa’s tax free weekend will be on August 5th and August 6th.
