Meanwhile in Class 1A, Sigourney beat Tri-County 8-7 in Keota. Sigourney’s Sean Sellers had an early three run homer on a 3-0 pitch in the game. Tri-County scored two runs off of Sigourney’s Drew Utterback in the top of the 7th to tie the game, but in the bottom of the 8th with two on, the Savages were able to bring the winning run in on a passed ball.

In the second game in Keota. English Valleys Sr. pitcher Kendall Gent held Keota to just two hits in a 5-2 EV win. Keota’s Casey Sieren had the only RBI for the Eagles when he hit a triple to right center and then scored on a throwing error by Gent. The English Valleys didn’t get their first hit until the 7th, but scored 3 runs in the top of the 7th to put them up and give them the win. In the field, EV retired the last 11 batters they faced.

Sigourney and English Valleys will play at 7pm tomorrow night in Keota for the semi-final district game.
