The Washington City Council conducted a public hearing as part of their meeting last night and approved new water and sewer rates.  The new rates are effective immediately with the rates increasing to $56 to over $107 up from $33 to over $62.  The rate increases will cover the cost of the new Wastewater Treatment Project.

A first reading was also held about a Tax Increment Financing business improvement project for Ann Williams/Insurance on the Avenue.  The Council approved a second reading of this project.
