Several young Washington County fair participants have received honors at the Iowa State Fair. Ty Sexton of Ainsworth showed the champion bull in the all other breeds category, as well as the reserve champion in the all other breeds – cow and calf category.
Also receiving recognition was Shelby Moothart of Fairfield, who presented the reserve champion in the shorthorn heifer category.
The beef show took place yesterday at the Outdoor Arena at the Iowa State Fairgrounds.
In the 52nd annual Iowa State Fair Talent Search, six senior division acts have advanced to the semifinals, and one group is from Wellman. Aaron, Alexander, and Allison Ockenfels are representing their town in the 52nd annual talent search with a vocal and instrumental performance.
The group will perform with five other acts this Friday afternoon.
