The Iowa Economic Development Authority has awarded funds to a Mt. Pleasant group to revitalize the town.  Main Street Mt. Pleasant received a $100,000 grant to benefit local improvement projects.  The group made the announcement at a ceremony in Des Moines yesterday.

The funding is part of over $700,000 in HUD Challenge Grants.

The money from the grant will go to improving the Mt. Pleasant commercial district through interior rehabilitations and repairs to older buildings in the area.
