Students in northern Washington County are preparing to head back to school in a few weeks, but one group of students will get a later start. Superintendent Mark Schneider says Mid-Prairie High School students will return to class Monday, August 29 due to the installation of a geothermal heating and cooling system.
The system is part of a $5 million renovation to the building. Schneider is superintendent of both the Mid-Prairie and Keota School districts.
He says Keota students will begin school Wednesday, August 24.
