The Washington Demons had their first day of football practice yesterday. Head Coach Randy Shrader says they have 80 kids out 9-12 and just over thirty of them are freshmen. He says these first few practices they aren’t in pads, this is a time where they work on conditioning and get used to being out there again with a helmet. He says there is a little different feel this season now that he’s been here a year and he thinks the program is better than a year ago. Last year Shrader was hired during the summer and didn’t have a chance to really interact with the kids until the first practice. The Demons will open their season August 26th when they host Mid-Prairie.
