Four area athletes have received all-state honors. The Iowa Newspapers Association has released their lists and making second team in 3A was Washington’s Anthony Ossman. Ossman has been a starting outfielder for the Demons since his freshman year and hit 368 this past season with 8 doubles 19 rbi’s mostly from the lead off spot and stole 45 bases.

In Class 1A, Sigourney’s Andrew Utterback was selected first team as an outfielder. Utterback finished with a 584 batting average had 9 home runs and 29 rbi’s. As a pitcher, Utterback had a 0.48 era, struck out 134 batters and walked 24.

Keota’s Tanner McClenahan was selected second team as an infielder. McClenahan hit 578 had 6 home runs including two grand slams, and 32 rbi’s.

Sigourney’s Sean Sellers was selected third team. Sellers hit 570, 8 home runs and 47 rbi’s.
