Posted By News On @ 6:28 am In Today's Local News | Comments Disabled
The Iowa State University Extension is offering a new program for gardeners. Nancy Adrian with the Washington County Extension says Preserve the Taste of Summer is providing both online classes and hands-on workshops to those who want to learn how to preserve foods safely.
There are eight online classes which will give background information on safe food preservation. In order to take part in a hands-on workshop, you must first complete two lessons on general food safety practices and canning basics plus one or two subject matter lessons.
