Outdoor enthusiasts can enjoy a number of educational activities this weekend in Louisa County.  Louisa County Conservation is having its annual “Running Wild” event Saturday at the Port Louisa National Wildlife Refuge.

Organizer Julie Ohde says this year’s version features a fun run, hands-on displays about wetland wildlife, live snakes, fishing, and more.

She says participants have to register for the fun run by going online to the Conservation Office’s webpage.

Ohde adds that the refuge is very beautiful late in the summer with flowers blooming and a variety of birds appearing along the trail.

Activities begin at 8:30 Saturday morning.  For more information on the “Running Wild” event, contact the Louisa County Conservation Office.
