With the new school year starting today, the new principals at Stewart Elementary and at St. James are looking forward to the year.  Stewart Principal Adam Miller came from Pleasantville to Washington and replaces Principal Rhoda Harris who became the principal at Prairie View Elementary in Cedar Rapids.  Miller says he has the challenge of learning the names of the over 500 students at the school by the first semester.  He adds he has a goal of creating relationships with the staff by looking at the current system and seeing what is done well and see where there can be improvements.

St. James Principal Teresa Beenblossom says she has a goal of communicating effectively with staff and parents on educating students.  Beenblossom, who taught for 15 years in the Washington School District, replaces Brad Thiel at St. James.
