The Washington County Safety Center says registration for the county’s new 911 alert system has gone very well since going online.  Cara Sorrells with the Safety Center says they have received over 10,000 registrations so far for the Wireless Emergency Notification System (WENS) since it went online about a month ago.

She says there haven’t been any emergencies to notify the public about yet, but she encourages residents to register to be safe in the future.

You can contact the Washington County Sheriff’s Department or go to their website to get signed up for the notification service.
