In its five years of existence, the Riverside Casino and Golf Resort has helped Washington County grow economically. Board members celebrated the resort’s fifth anniversary this week through a number of drawings and giveaways.
Former Riverside City Administrator Tina Thomas says it helped her town grow by creating jobs and giving a much needed boost to Riverside’s economy.
According to the Washington Economic Development Group, the resort is the largest employer in Washington County.
Six county residents currently serve on the resort’s board, and 50 percent of the resort is owned by 365 Iowa residents.
