A Riverside man accused of murder has received a reduced bond.  Bond for 70 year old Thomas Lee Hansen was initially set at two million dollars after a May 1st incident where he is accused of shooting 54 year old Sharon Kay Gerot while she was riding on a lawnmower in rural Riverside.

If Hansen posts the cash bond of one point four million dollars he will be supervised by the Department of Corrections.  Washington County Attorney Larry Brock says that a criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the person charged is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty in court.

Hansen’s trial is scheduled to begin in January of next year.  KCII will bring you more information as it becomes official.
