Iowa is once again holding their sales tax holiday this weekend. Clothing and footwear items considered appropriate for everyday wear under $100 each are exempt from state and local option sales tax during this weekend.
Washington Economic Development Group Director Ed Raber says this provides an opportunity for retailers to sell products that sometimes parents are hesitant to buy. He adds this is a nice boost for local retailers.
Iowa offers a tax free weekend as a way to make sure young students could purchase items for school without the additional cost from the tax. Iowa’s tax free weekend runs today and tomorrow.
