Two Washington County 4-H members have been awarded scholarships at the Iowa State Fair.  Washington County 4-H Youth Coordnator Amy Green says Kayla Romoser and Matt Romoser of Keota both received $1,000 scholarships sponsored by Orscheln Farm and Home.

Green says Kayla has been a 4-H member for nine years, and in that time has been involved in the swine, market beef, food and nutrition, home improvement, and sewing project areas.  She’s also served as club vice president, secretary, and reporter.

Her brother Matt has also been a nine-year 4-H member involved in the market swine, market beef, breeding beef, bucket bottle calf, and woodworking project areas.  He’s served as president and vice president of his club.

Both Kayla and Matt plan to attend Iowa State University this fall with Kayla seeking a major in family and consumer science education, and Matt a degree in animal science.
